The coming week will be a very busy one for the University of Wyoming men's golf team as they will play in two tournaments over five consecutive days.
The Cowboys will begin the weekend at the University of Denver Ron Moore Intercollegiate. That event will be played on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 4-6 at the University of Denver Golf Club in Highlands Ranch, Colo. One 18-hole round will be played on each of the three days of the tournament.
A total of eight teams, along with individuals from the University of Colorado, will compete in this year's Ron Moore Intercollegiate.
After Sunday's final round of the Ron Moore Intercollegiate, Wyoming will travel north to Erie, Colo., to play in the University of Colorado's Mark Simpson Colorado Invitational on Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 7-8. That tournament will be played at the Colorado National Golf Club in Erie, Colo. Teams in that tournament are yet to be announced. The tournament format for CU's event will be 36 holes on Monday followed by a final 18-hole round on Tuesday.

Tyler Severin,
Dan Starzinski,
Carl Underwood and
Bryce Waters.
•The same five individuals have also had at least one round in the 60s thus far this season.
Carl Underwood shot a 65 (-7) at the Gene Miranda.
Tyler Severin fired a 64 (-6) at the Ram Masters.
Dan Starzinski shot a 66 (-6) at the Gene Miranda.

Coach's Corner
Quotes from University of Wyoming Director of Golf and Head Men's Golf Coach
Joe Jensen.
"There is nothing that can replace playing tournament golf," said Jensen. "Because of the fact both these tournaments are being played so close together in Colorado, I thought it would be a great opportunity to get an extra tournament in for our guys to compete in this fall.
"This is about getting good competitive rounds in for our young players, learning from that experience and getting better.
"These are two tournaments if we play well, we should be near the top of the leader board and that is our goal. There will be good teams in both these tournaments, but I believe we have opportunities to be competitive in both tournaments.
"I like getting the extra work in, and I like being able to play here on the Front Range because it allows us to take all seven of our guys to both tournaments."
