Behind double-digit kills from senior Bridget Shanahan, the Cowgirl volleyball team swept San Diego State for the second time this season on Saturday afternoon. The victory moved Wyoming's home winning streak to ten, which is second-best in program history. The Cowgirls won 13-consecutive matches at home during the 1989 and 1990 seasons.

Shanahan was the lone Cowgirl with double-digits kills against the Aztecs. She recorded a match-high 12 and is now five kills away from 1,000 for her career. She would become the 12th Cowgirl to accomplish the feat.

The Cowgirl defense had 14 total team blocks against San Diego State and held the Aztecs to a .053 hitting percentage. It was the third lowest hitting percentage for any opponent against UW this season and second lowest during Mountain West play. Laura Beach led UW with seven roofs, while Reed Copeland had six and Kayla Henderson had four. Allison Waldvogel once again scooped up a match-high 11 digs for Wyoming.

Mattison DeGarmo hit a career-high .500 (7-0-14) en route to tying her career-high in kills with seven on the afternoon. Kayla Slofkiss also slammed home seven kills against the Aztecs, as Beach and Copeland both chipped in three for UW. Sophomore Lily Austin had a match-high two service aces for the Cowgirls, while Courtney Chacon and Waldvogel each added one. Chacon was the team leader with 17 assists, as Cori Aafedt dished out 12 against the Aztecs.

DeGarmo posted four of her kills in the first frame to pace UW to a 1-0 set lead. Shanahan led UW inn both the second and third set with four and six kills, respectively. Waldvogel had six digs in the final set to help seal the victory for the Cowgirls.

Wyoming will hit the road once again this coming weekend. It will face New Mexico at 7 p.m. MT on Thursday and then travel to Air Force for a 2 p.m. opening serve on Saturday.
