Before Wyoming: Mitchell spent his first five collegiate wrestling seasons at the University of Buffalo … he qualified for the NCAA Championships at 197 in his final year with the Bulls after placing second at the MAC Tournament … Mitchell’s breakout season included a 20-9 record and a perfect 7-0 in conference duals … as a junior, he placed third at the MAC Tournament … for Mitchell’s college career, he compiled a 66-44 record.

High School: Mitchell was a two-sport athlete at Marshfield High School also competing in football … he won a state title in wrestling as a senior, going 49-1 on the season … for Mitchell’s career, he ended with a 149-33 career record.
