Biography

Prior to UW: Bailey was a standout in the classroom at OSU, earning President’s Honor Roll accolades as a freshman through his junior season. He was twice named to the Academic All-Big 12 squad. He was a two-time NCAA qualifier and finished third and fourth at the Big 12 conference tournament as a freshman and sophomore. In 2010-11, he was the No. 6 seed at the NCAAs and won 16 of 17 matches to start the season. In 2011-12, Bailey qualified for NCAAs and went 1-2 at the event. Overall, he was 15-16 and 7-10 in duals. He beat two eventual All-Americans and finished fourth at the conference championships.

High School: A stellar prep wrestler for Catoosa High School, Bailey won the Oklahoma high school state championship four times and compiled a mark of 128-5. He placed in the top three of FILA Junior Nationals twice, and won the Beast of the East tournament as a senior, being named Outstanding Wrestler. He placed third in freestyle at Junior Nationals as a senior. He earned a 4.0 GPA and was named valedictorian of his class. 

Personal: Bailey was born in Tulsa, Okla., and he is the son of Leonard and Kelly Bailey. He has three siblings: Brittany, Tanner and Paden. His father wrestled at Oklahoma State and his uncle wrestled at Colorado and OSU. He is pursuing a degree in pre-medicine at UW.
