Highlights:

2023-24 (Redshirt-Junior): Birdwell compiled an 8-11 record, which included a 1-5 mark against ranked wrestlers. He began the season as the every-day starter at 133 before splitting time in the lineup during the second half of the year. Birdwell logged his ranked win at the Reno Tournament of Champions, beating No. 27 Jace Koezler via major decision, 20-6. All five of Birdwell’s ranked losses were competitive, only losing via decision. He went 1-7 in duals and was 8-4 in regular-season tournaments.

Before Wyoming: Birdwell spent two seasons at Oklahoma State, posting a record of 5-0 during the 2022-23 season. He won the Golden Norseman Open in his lone appearance on the season. Birdwell posted a record of 8-2 in the 2021-22 season, which was highlighted by a third-place finish at the Reno Tournament of Champions.

High School: Birdwell prepped at Fergus High School where he won four Montana state titles. He accrued a career record of 178-0, becoming just the fourth Montana wrestler to amass a undefeated record in their career.
