Senior (2015): Kayla Henderson saw action in 27 matches during her final season, playing in 97 sets. Tenth in the MW with 1.00 blocks per set after totaling 97 on the year and was third on the team with 180 kills. Began her senior season with six kills and six blocks against Ohio State (8/28). Recorded 12 kills and four blocks against Montana (9/5), behind a .391 hitting efficiency. Added seven kills and a season-high seven blocks against Boise State (9/24), before a season-best .571 hitting clip against Utah State (9/26). Had a season-high 13 kills at Utah State (10/22). Posted 11 kills at New Mexico (11/5) behind a team-high .455 hitting efficiency and also recorded ten kills against San Jose State (11/14). Finished her career as a Cowgirl tying her season-best of seven blocks against Colorado State (11/24). For her career, Henderson posted 486 kills, 218 blocks and 89 digs. An Academic All-MW selection.
Junior (2014): Appeared in all 31 matches and 114 sets with 20 starts in 2014. Averaged 1.92 kills (219) and 0.32 digs (37) per set. Recorded 86 total blocks (0.75 bps) on the year. In MW matches, she averaged 1.96 kills while recording 53 total blocks (0.78 bps). Finished with a career-high 13 kills against Boise State (10/25/14). Recorded a career-high nine total blocks while adding nine kills against Utah State (10/23/13). Tied her career high with 13 kills while hitting .500 (13-2-22) against UC Davis (9/19/14). Named to the All-Tournament at the Hampton Inn Suites UNC Classic. Led the team once in kills and twice in blocks. Earned Academic All-MW honors for the second year in a row.
Sophomore (2013): Appeared in 20 matches and 54 sets including seven starts on the season. Started in the first match of her career against Drake (8/31/13). Averaging 1.61 kills per set, as she recorded 87 on the season. Also recorded 35 blocks (0.63 bps) and 17 digs (0.31 dpg). In MW matches, she averaged 2.21 kills per set and had seven total blocks. Had a season-high five total blocks against Indiana (9/13/13). Finished with a career-high 13 kills and 32 attempts against Colorado (10/1/13). An Academic All-MW selection for the first time.
Georgia Southern: Played in 14 matches along with three starts during her first full season. Averaged 1.14 kills and 0.48 digs in 29 sets played. Redshirted in 2011. Named to the SoCon Academic Honor Roll.
High School: A three-time letterwinner and was a captain in her senior season. Earned 4A all-county honorable mention and 5A honorable mention all-county, while being selection MVP twice. Helped her team win the 2009 Area Championship and Sweet Sixteen Championship her junior season. Member of the National Honor Society, Honor Roll, AP Scholar, AJC Cup. Played for Shannon Mabrey at Hillgrove High School in Powder Springs, Ga.
Personal: Majoring in accounting with a minor in international studies. Born Nov. 20, 1993, in Atlanta, Ga. Has two siblings, one brother, Knox and one sister, Khloe. Father played football at Georgia Tech. Kayla Alexis Henderson id the daughter of Kimberlie and Kevin Henderson.
