Junior (2021-22): Showcased his versatility, competing in distance freestyle, butterfly events and the individual medley … boasted a career-best time of 1:58.69 in the 200-yard IM in a dual against Colorado Mesa (11/5/21) … posted a trio of season-best times at the Missouri Invite (11/19/21), swimming a 4:05.27 in the 400 IM, a 1:50.40 in the 200-yard butterfly and a 4:39.34 in the 500-yard freestyle … registered a season-best time of 53.53 in the 100-yard butterfly in a tri-meet featuring Air Force, Denver and LSU (10/23/21).
Sophomore (2020-21): Boasted numerous season-bests at various different meets … posted a trio of season-best times at the Western Athletic Conference Championships (2/26/21), swimming a 4:01.93 in the 400 IM, a 1:51.39 in the 200 butterfly and a 4:37.31 in the 500 freestyle … logged a season-best time of 2:00.43 in the 200 IM in a dual against Air Force (12/3/20) … recorded another season-best time of 52.39 in the 100 butterfly in a dual against Hawaii (1/29/21) … logged a season-best time of 49.33 in the 100 freestyle in a tri-meet at Air Force (1/16/21) and another in the 200 freestyle in a dual against Denver (1/22/21), swimming a 1:47.25.
Freshman (2019-20): A first-time letterwinner for the Cowboys…participated in 11 overall events including five duals…recorded three Top 20 finishes in his WAC Championships…turned in a time of 4:00.50 in the 400 IM to place 12…followed that up with a time of 1:49.94 in the 200 butterfly, which was 15th, and posted a mark of 4:33.75 in the 500 free to finish 18th…recorded three career-best times at the Mizzou Invite…in the 200 fly, he had a time of 1:48.93 followed by 4:00.06 performance in the 400 IM…recorded a time of 4:31.75 in the 500 free at the same event.
High School: A four year letterwinner while attending Liberty High School…was a three-time All-Conference selection and holds records in both the 200 and 500 freestyle…was coached by Chris Murphy…an excellent student, he was a member of the National Honor Society and the commissioner of the LINK Crew
Personal: Murphy is the son of Chris and Linda…has one brother, Caden...majoring in communication.
