Junior (2017-2018): Took second in the three meter event at the WAC Championships with a total score of 349.50…earned another second place finish in the 1 meter diving event at the WAC Championships with a total score of 319.50…placed fifth in the platform event at the WAC Championships to record a top five finish in each giving event at the WAC Championships
Redshirt-Sophomore (2016-17): Russi completed a successful sophomore campaign with top-five finishes on each board at the WAC Championships...placed fourth on the one-meter with a score of 290.60...earned fifth-place finishes on the three-meter (284.95) and the platform (281.90)...made the final in all three boards at the NCAA Zone E Championships...earned two WAC Diver of the Week honors.
Sophomore (2015-16): Redshirted.
Freshman (2014-15): Finished off a great freshman season at the WAC Championships where he led the way for the Pokes by placing third on the platform with a career-best 285.60, which was third best in school history…at the Wyoming Diving Invite, he took second in the 1-meter springboard with a score of 221.50 and also finished second on the 3-meter with a total tally of 208.50…finished second against Denver in the 1-meter springboard with a score of 285.22, while earlier in the year competing against Denver, he, finished first on the 1-meter springboard with a score of 275.63.
High School: He was a CIF DII champion and consistently finished strong at the USA Diving Age Group Nationals…also earned AAU All-American at the AAU National Championships in 2011, 2012 and 2013…was the captain of Turn'n'Burn Diving club, as well as his high school team…also excelled in the classroom with a 3.8 GPA at Vista Murrieta High School…a former USA Gymnastics High School Academic All-America, as well as a Life Scout for the Boy Scouts of America.
Personal: He is the son of Emilio and Patty Russi…has one sister, Emily…born on June 5, 1996…majoring in nursing at UW.
