MARICOPA, Ariz. – The Wyoming women's golf team made history at the 2026 Cowgirl Classic.

Kiley Reisner finished tied for fourth individually and set a new program record for lowest event score after finishing the 54-hole tournament with a 207. The dynamic UW freshman shot 68 during Wednesday's final round to finish 9-under for the tournament on the par-72, 6,196-yard AK Chin Southern Dunes GC.

The Cowgirls finished ninth in the nationally competitive 20-team field while shooting the fourth-lowest team event score at +14 (878). UW shot 292 in the second and third rounds, which is tied for the ninth-lowest team round score in program history.

"This event was what the team needed and has been working towards," UW head coach Josey Stender said. "We competed to score and stuck to our process better than we have been. They showed tremendous resilience and confidence even when they didn't have their best stuff."

Reisner, who won the individual trophy at the Thunderbird Classic last month in St. George, Utah, broke the previous individual record for lowest event score of 209 set by teammate Elle Higgins at the Wolverine Invitational during the fall schedule. Her 68 is tied for the second-lowest individual round in UW history, one shot behind Higgins (67) and Meghan Vogt (67), who both set the record this season.

"Kiley is so fun to coach, and she deserves the accolades for the work she puts in," Stender said. "She plays with such tenacity and a contagious passion. It has been rewarding watching her grow and accept feedback."

Vogt tied for 20th at +2, Kira Reisner tied for 67th at +11 and Emerson Purcell and Higgins both finished +13 to tie for 76th to complete the team effort in the tournament. UW finished one shot behind eighth-place Santa Clara and six shots ahead of 10th-place Fresno State.

No. 22 Iowa State repeated as Cowgirl Classic champions in dominant fashion. The Cyclones, led by individual trophy winner Nichakorn Pinprayoon (-17), finished -26, which was comfortably ahead of co-runners-up Sacramento State (-3) and BYU (-3).

This was the host team's best score in the Cowgirl Classic by 14 shots. UW carded an 892 in 2018.

"We are trending at the right time with Meg's continued leadership, Elle's consistency, Kira and Emerson's growing confidence," Stender said.

UW will next compete in the Bobcat Desert Classic hosted by Montana State April 13-15 in Goodyear, Ariz.
