LARAMIE, Wyo. (Feb. 23, 2026) – The Wyoming Cowgirls open their week of road contests with a Wednesday matinee at Air Force. Tip-off with the Falcons is at 11 a.m.

ABOUT THE COWGIRLS
Wyoming is coming off a 62-48 loss Saturday against Colorado State. Malene Pedersen and Henna Sandvik led the way with 13 and 12, respectively in the loss. Jane Rumpf tied a career-high with 12 rebounds in the game while Heidur Karlsdottir had a career-best four assists against the Rams.
With 13 points, Pedersen has now scored in double figures for 46 consecutive games, dating back to last season. That is the fourth-longest active streak in the country. Pedersen ranks ninth in program history with 1,647 career points and 615 career field goals. Her 163 career 3-pointers are 10th-most all time as are her 127 career games played.
Pedersen ranks in the top four in the league in six different statistical categories. Pedersen leads the Mountain West in points (433) and field goals made (159) while her 16.7 points per game ranks second. Pedersen is third in the conference with 1.96 3-pointers per game and is fourth shooting nearly 44-percent from the floor.
The Cowgirls assisted on 67-percent of their makes against CSU and have assisted on 65.6-percent of their field goals this season. Wyoming is second in the league averaging 13.9 assists per game, while four Cowgirls average at least two assists per contest. UW also recorded five blocks in the contest and continues to lead the league with 3.9 blocks per game. In conference contests, Rumpf and Karlsdottir lead the Mountain West with 1.58 and 1.24 blocks per game, respectively.
SCOUTING AIR FORCE
Air Force boasts its typical high-pressure defense, forcing its opponents into 17.4 turnovers per game and average nearly nine steals a contest. The Falcons average 59.4 points per game on 35.5-percent shooting from the floor and 27.5-percent from 3-point range. Opponents are averaging 62.4 points per contest on 43.5-percent shooting overall and 33.3-percent from beyond-the-arc. AFA averages 11.3 assists per game and nearly 35 rebounds a contest. The Falcons shoot 71.6-percent as a team from the free-throw line.
Milahnie Perry leads the Mountain West in scoring, averaging 17.1 points per game and is the only Falcon averaging in double figures. Perry is second on the team with 59 assists and 36 steals this season. Jayda McNabb is averaging 8.5 points per game and a team-best 7.8 rebounds per game, 2.4 assists and 2.3 steals per contest. Keelie O'Hollaren is second on the squad averaging 9.3 points per game and has a team-high 40 3-pointers.
SERIES HISTORY AGAINST AIR FORCE
Wyoming leads the all-time series with the Falcons, 64-4 after winning the first matchup this season, back in January. The Cowgirls have won eight-straight in the series and 15-of-16 dating back to 2019. The last UW loss against Air Force came in February 2022 on the road. In eight career games against AFA, Malene Pedersen is averaging 15.5 points per game on 62-percent shooting from the field.
