LARAMIE, Wyoming (11/12/24) – The University of Wyoming wrestling team continues to receive recognition in the polls. Wyoming is as high as No. 21 in the team tournament rankings according to InterMat and remains at No. 24 in the dual rankings according to InterMat and Open Mat.
The Pokes are up to seven guys possessing a ranking.
Cooper Voorhees (165) broke into the rankings, following his perfect 2-0 start, checking in at No. 31 according to Flo Wrestling.
Jore Volk (125) leads the way with a 2-0 record. He holds the No. 2 ranking in InterMat, Flo Wrestling and now WIN, as well.
Joey Novak (197), at 2-0 with two pins, is as high as No. 10 in Flo Wrestling.
Gabe Willochell (149), owning a 1-1 record, is No. 17 in Open Mat's poll.
Jared Hill (157), laying claim to a 2-0 record, is No. 23 in InterMat.
Sam Mitchell (HWT) has yet to compete this season but is still ranked No. 24 in InterMat.
Cole Brooks (141) is up to No. 28 in InterMat after he's started the season 2-0.
Volk is the lone Cowboy in action this week. He competes in the NWCA All-Star Classic on Saturday in State College, Pennsylvania, at 5 p.m.
