He went a team-best 16-1 in duals, 3-2 in regular-season tournaments and 9-4 in the postseason. Novak missed some time with injury. He earned All-American status as a No. 15 seed at the NCAA Championships following a 6-2 performance where three of the wins were upsets and four were bonus-point victories. He defeated No. 5 Michael Beard (Lehigh) in the Blood Round and No. 12 Stephen Little (Little Rock) in the fifth-place match both by major decision. His NCAA run also included a pin of No. 9 Zac Braunagel (Illinois) and of No. 17 Nik Stemmet (Stanford). Additionally, Novak got a takedown against No. 3 AJ Ferrari (CSU-Bakersfield), becoming the first to ever do so at the NCAA Championships. The win over Voelker avenged an earlier-season loss. Novak burst onto the scene at the Cliff Keen Invitational, beating three ranked guys as an unranked wrestler himself. Novak missed some time with illness but went unbeaten in the UniWyo at 3-0. He clinched a dual victory at Northern Colorado with a pin of Xavier Vasquez. Novak placed second at the Reno Tournament of Champions. He amassed 41 takedowns, which tied for second on the team and held a team-best 20 near falls. Novak also held a team-high seven falls. He went 6-5 in duals at 197 pounds. Novak added a 6-4 postseason record and was 12-5 in regular-season tournaments. He was named an NWCA Scholar-American. High School: Novak competed at New Prague High School. He claimed a Minnesota state title as a senior. Novak was a four-time state placer, finishing as runner-up in 2020 and 22 and third in 2021. Novak also won back-to-back section titles in 2022 and 23. He finished his prep career ranked seventh in the nation at his weight class and was tabbed as one of the top-50 recruits of his class.
