This coming Monday and Tuesday, April 4-5, the Wyoming Cowboys will host their annual Wyoming Cowboy Classic in Chandler, Ariz. The field of 25 teams will include seven teams ranked among the Top 75 teams in the country.
Also included in the field will be seven Mountain West Conference schools: Colorado State, Fresno State, Nevada, San Diego State, UNLV, Utah State and Wyoming.
The top four teams from the 2021 Wyoming Cowboy Classic return this year, including defending champion San Diego State, which shot an 831 (-33) a year ago. The Aztecs were followed by TCU, 837 (-27); Colorado, 840 (-24); and Loyola Marymount, 844 (-20). The Aztecs set a new Cowboy Classic tournament record for lowest team score at last year's tournament. Stanford's Barclay Brown captured the individual medalist honors, shooting a 202 (-14), which also set a new Cowboy Classic record. Stanford is not in this year's Cowboy Classic field.
Wyoming tied for 10th in the field of 23 teams last year, with a team score of 861 (-3), and UW's
Tyler Severin tied for 11th at 210 (-6).
2022 Tournament Field
This year's tournament field will feature 25 teams: Cal State Fullerton, Colorado, Colorado State, Fresno State, Gonzaga, Iowa State, Kansas, Long Beach State, Loyola Marymount, Nevada, New Mexico State, San Diego, San Diego State, Southern Utah, TCU, UC Davis, UC Irvine, UC Santa Barbara, UNC Wilmington, UNLV, Utah State, Utah Valley, UTSA, Weber State and Wyoming.
Nationally Ranked Teams
There will be seven teams ranked among the Top 75 teams in the nation playing in this year's Wyoming Cowboy Classic according to the most recent Golfstat rankings (as of March 29). Those seven schools include: Kansas (No. 19), Nevada (38), UC Davis (53), San Diego (59), TCU (68), Loyola Marymount (71) and San Diego State (72).

Tournament Format
All teams will play two 18-hole rounds on Monday, April 4 and a final 18-hole round on Tuesday, April 5.
