Seal Beach, California (March 1, 2021) – The Wyoming Cowgirl Golf squad wrapped up play at The Gold Rush hosted by Long Beach State on Tuesday finishing 11^th as a team. Meghan Vogt was the highest finisher for the Cowgirls finishing in a tie for 35^th. 
 
"I felt like we played much better than we scored today. We had a few errant swings on that on this course specifically can be very penalizing." Head Women's Golf Coach Josey Stender said, "Meghan continued her steady play and Sam really played much better today. Playing in a field of this caliber and on a course of this level is a positive experience we can only only build off of." 

Vogt got better with every round throughout the tournament posting her best score in the third round shooting a 76 (+4) to give herself a total three round score of 234 (+18). Jessica Zapf posted a third round of 82 (+10) bringing her total to 239 (+23) as she finished the tournament tied for 45^th. Samantha Hui also had her best round on the final day shooting 77 (+5) on her way to finishing tied for 55^th with a total score of 245 (+29). Rounding out the Cowgirl lineup, Cristina Ciasca finished in a tie for 62^nd while Morgan Ryan finished in 66^th.
 
Playing as an individual, Kyla Wilde had an outstanding final round shooting a 74 (+2) bringing her three-round total to 233 (+17) as she finished tied for 30^th. Also playing as individuals, Michelle Nguyen finished up the tournament in a tie for 68^th while Rachel Stoinski finished in 70^th. 
 
As a team, the Cowgirls finished the Gold Rush in 11^th with a team score of 963 (+99) sitting well ahead of CSU-Northridge and just nine strokes behind 10^th place NIU. No. 14 USC won the team title with a score of 863 (-1) while No. 15 UCLA finished in second. 
 
Up next for the Cowgirls is a trip to Ewa Beach, Hawaii to compete to compete in the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational on March 7-8.
