Lincoln, Neb. (April 17, 2021) -- Wyoming Cowboys Bryce Waters and Dan Starzinski are both among the Top 25 individuals at the Nebraska Git-R-Done Husker Invitational after the first 36 holes.  Waters fired a first day total of 143 (+1) and is tied for seventh, while Starzinski posted a 147 (+5) to tie for 21st.  As a team, Wyoming sits in sixth place out of nine teams at 595 (+27).  The third and final round of the tournament will be played on Sunday at the Firethorn Golf Club in Lincoln, Neb.
 
Waters opened the tournament with a 75 (+4) in Saturday's first round and followed that up with his season best round of 68 (-3) in round two.  Starzinski began the tournament with a round of 76 (+5) and then shot 71 (Even) in the afternoon.  Kirby Coe-Kirkham finished day one at 149 (+7) to tie for 30th.  Jared Edeen will take a 156 (+14) into Sunday's final round.  He is tied for 52nd.  Tyler Severin sits at 158 (+16) and is in 58th place with one round remaining.  Carl Underwood, playing as an individual, tallied a 154 (+12) and is tied for 47th.
 
As a team, the Cowboys opened with a round of 306 (+22) but bounced back with a strong round in the afternoon, shooting a 289 (+5) to finish at 595 (+27).
 
Michigan State is leading in the team competition at 569 (+1).  The Spartans hold a four-stroke lead over Minnesota.  The Gophers posted a 573 (+5).  Kansas State is third at 574 (+6).  Two Michigan State Spartans lead the individual competition, with James Piot holding a one-stroke lead over teammate Troy Taylor II.  Piot fired a 137 (-5), while Taylor II carries a 138 (-4) into Sunday's final round.  Nebraska's Caleb Badura is a close third at 140 (-2). 
 
The tournament is being played at the Firethorn Golf Club in Lincoln, Neb.  The course measures 7,040 yards and plays to a par of 71.  All teams are scheduled to tee off in a shotgun start on Sunday, beginning at 7:30 a.m., Mountain Time (8:30 a.m., Central).
