LARAMIE, Wyo. (Sept. 26, 2019) – The Wyoming Cowgirl golf team travels to Palm Desert, Calif., this weekend to host the Wyoming Cowgirl Desert Intercollegiate. The tournament will be held at the Classic Club in Palm Desert, Calif., and runs Saturday and Sunday.
"We always look forward to the unique nature of hosting an event and the team really takes extra pride in the Brown and Gold while on site," head coach
Josey Stender said. "We are so fortunate to have a great relationship with Troon Golf and Classic Club as it truly is a first class experience for the teams. The course environment is much different than what we have seen this fall so adjusting to that will be our primary focus. We've had an excellent start to the season and look to continue the competitive consistency this weekend."
This weekend's tournament is set up on the 6,097-yard, par-72 course at the Classic Club. Play is scheduled to start at 7:30 a.m. PT on Saturday morning with 36 holes of play. The final round is set for 7:30 a.m. PT on Sunday. Both days include shotgun starts.
Along with the Cowgirls, the 11-team tournament field features Cal Poly, Cal State Bakersfield, Cal State Northridge, Long Beach State, Southern Utah, Louisiana Monroe, UC Riverside, Hawaii, UT-Arlington and UTEP.

Caitlyn Skavdahl. Senior
Kaylee Knadler along with freshmen
Morgan Ryan and
Jessica Zapf will each compete as individuals.
Wyoming is coming off a fourth place finish at the Ptarmigan CSU Ram Classic in Fort Collins, Colo. Sophomore
Samantha Hui is coming off a 16
th place finish for the Cowgirls. She carded a final round score of 3-over 75 to finish with a combined score of 225. The Cowgirls finished with a 39-over 903 for the tournament.
