LARAMIE, Wyo. (January 24, 2019) – The Wyoming track & field teams are ready to return to action as they host the Powder River Dual against Montana State on Saturday, Jan. 26. The competition will be held at the Campbell County Parks and Recreation Center in Gillette, Wyo.
"Montana State's always had a really good track program," said head coach
Bryan Berryhill. "I think this is the fifth year we've had the dual meet up in Gillette with them, and it's always a close competition. It comes down to the 4x400 (meter relay) a lot of times. It's a lot of fun for the kids. Campbell Country Rec Center up there does a really good job hosting this competition, and Gillette in general, and it's a really enjoyable meet for our student-athletes."
Field events are slated to begin at 11 a.m. with the long jump, triple jump and high jump, while track competitions begin at noon with the mile run.
"We're going through a lot of technical stuff right now," said Berryhill. "They guys and gals are training really hard still. Our sight for indoor season is the conference championships. We're going to try to progress through practice and competitions to be the best we can when we get to Albuquerque."
