LAS VEGAS, Nev. (Oct. 12, 2018) – The Wyoming tennis team closed out play on Friday at the 2018 ITA Mountain Regional Championships in Las Vegas.
 
Three players were on the court in singles action. Junior Ana Royo defeated Erandi Martinez of UTEP in three sets, 6-7, 6-3, 1-0 (10-3), followed by freshman Ana Fernandez over Hannah Templeton of Denver, 6-4, 6-0. Fellow freshman Mihaela Kaftanova dropped a two set match, 6-4, 7-6, against Anna Battersby of Northern Colorado.
 
In doubles play, seniors Elisa Koonik and Tessa van Der Ploeg earned a 9-7 win in the back draw consolation.
 
Wyoming will close out the fall season at the Blue and Red Challenge in Dallas, Texas. The tournament is scheduled to begin on Friday, Nov. 2.
