ST. GEORGE, Utah (March 14, 2017) – The University of Wyoming women's golf team concluded the BYU at Entrada Classic on Tuesday afternoon with the final round of play. The Cowgirls finished the tournament in fourth place out of 12 tough and competitive teams for their fourth top-five finish of the season. UW had its best round of the tournament with a 302 (+14) on Tuesday and finished with a 909 (+45).

"I am very proud of the all around team effort and great finish in a solid field," UW head coach Josey Stender said. "This group is so fun because of how they compete and raise expectations."

Junior Gabrielle Gibson was UW's highest individual finisher at the Entrada at Snow Canyon Country Club. Gibson closed out the tournament with not only UW's best round of the tournament, but also a season-best 70 (-2). Gibson's 223 (+7) during the two-day tournament in St. George, Utah, proved to be her best three-round score since the Rainbow Wahine Invitational in 2015. The 13th-place finish for Gibson was her second-consecutive top-15 finish this season.

"I am very happy for Gabrielle (Gibson) as her final round was just fantastic," Stender added. "With one more event this week we look to continue to compete at a high level."

Freshman Erin Sargent earned her fourth top-25 finish for the Brown and Gold. Sargent tied for 25th with a 229 (+13) after a 79 (+7) on Tuesday. Sophomore Megan Knadler posted a 78 (+6) during the final round. She tied for 27th and finished one shot behind Sargent. Klara Castillo was the fourth Cowgirl to finish within the top-30 as she owned a share of 29th. Castillo totaled 231 (+15) after her best round of the tournament. Castillo shot a 75 (+3), which was UW's second best final round score on Tuesday. Rounding out Wyoming's lineup was Mackenzie Barrie. The senior shot an 81 (+9) during the third round and closed out the tournament with a 237 (+21).

No. 12 Kent State won the team title with a three-round total of 886 (+2), while the Flashes Karoline Stormo took the individual honors with a 212 (-4).

Wyoming will have little time off before it will be back on the course. The Cowgirls will open the two-day Lady Thunderbird Invitational on Thursday morning.
