The University of Wyoming Cowgirl golf team tied for tenth in the Ptarmigan Ram Classic, concluding the 54-hole event on Tuesday afternoon. UW tied with Nebraska with a total score of 914 (+50) and finished seven shots ahead of host Colorado State. Junior Gabrielle Gibson and sophomore Megan Knadler tied for 29th place overall, the highest of all Cowgirls.

"For the most part, I feel pretty encouraged with how we played," UW head coach Josey Stender said. "As a whole we had a lot of positives and showed improvement from last year. There are always areas that we can continue to get better, but this team did a good job of setting a new baseline for the rest of the year."

Gibson opened the event with a 149 (+5), posting rounds of 75 (+3) and 74 (+2) on Monday. She then ended her trip with a 78 (+2) on Tuesday and a piece of 29th place in the 86-player field. Knadler, playing as an individual sandwiched a second-round 79 with a pair of 72's to grab her a piece of 29th place with a total score of 227 (+11). Senior Mackenzie Barrie and freshman Erin Sargent were two strokes back from Gibson and Knadler. Sargent was consistent throughout, registering rounds of 73-77-79 (229, +13), as Barrie recorded her best round of the tournament today with a 74 (+2) to tie for 35th.

Redshirt sophomore Sarah Hankins finished the tournament tied for 47th place with a three-round total of 232 (+16). She shot a third-round 80 (+8) at the Ptarmigan Country Club. Junior Klara Castillo was two shots back of Hankins with a 234 (+18). Kastillo recorded an 82 (+10) on Tuesday. Senior Taylor Dorans shot an 82 (+10) during the third round, as sophomore Amanda Hinchey closed out the tournament with her best round. She recorded an 80 (+8) on Tuesday for a final score of 247 (+31).

San Jose State took home the team title with a three-round score of 871 (+7), as UC Irvine (885, +21) and Gonzaga (889, +25) rounded out the top three. My Leander of San Jose State claimed the individual title with a 210 (-6). Gonzaga's Ciera Min took second one shot behind, as Avery Finch from UC Irvine placed third.
