Wyoming swimming and diving remains in
third place after the second day of competition at the Mizzou Invite. The
Cowgirls tallied 409 points while the Cowboys finished the evening with 430.5
total points.
After day two, the
Missouri women extend their lead with a score of 927, followed by Illinois with
421 points. The Cowgirls are in third with 409 points. On the men's side, the
Tigers also lead with a score of 915. Drury is in second with 463 points, just
ahead of Wyoming with 430.5.
The Cowgirls got off
to a positive start, placing third in the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:41.25.
Junior Maria Harutjunjan finished fourth in the 100 breaststroke, notching a
time of 1:01.96. Sophomore Isobel Ryan logged a third-place time in the 100
backstroke at 53.92. On the boards, senior Keely Bishop and freshman Karla Contreras finished fifth and sixth on the one-meter, respectively. Bishop
scored a 296.65 while Contreras scored a 286.80.
The Cowboys started
the evening with a successful race of their own, placing second in the 200
medley relay with a time of 1:28.31. Junior Wade Nelson and senior Ryan Ball placed second and fourth in the 400 IM, recording times of 3:49.43 and 3:55.24,
respectively. On the three-meter board, redshirt-sophomore Ryan Russi was the top
Wyoming performer, placing 11th with a time of 292.55. The Wyoming men ended
the day with a second-place finish in the 800 freestyle relay. Junior Jacob Porter, junior Slade Sheaffer, Ball, and junior Eric Oleson earned a time of
6:40.07, more than eight seconds faster than the third-place time.

begins with preliminary races tomorrow at 9 a.m. MT.
