The Cowgirl volleyball team rallied in the fourth set to close out a 3-1 (16-25, 25-21, 25-16, 25-9) victory over the Utah State Aggies on Thursday night on Kirby Court at the Wayne Estes Center. It was the second match this season UW had four Cowgirls record double-digit kills. Wyoming had a season-high 57 assists against USU and also marked the third time it had 60 or more kills.

Despite dropping the first set against the Aggies (5-18, 1-8 MW), the Cowgirls (16-5, 6-3 MW) recorded 14 total team blocks and held Utah State to a .110 hitting percentage. USU's hitting percentage was the lowest of any MW opponent against UW this year. Kayla Slofkiss lead the Cowgirl offensive attack with a career-high 16 kills. She also earned her ninth double-double of the season as she tied a season high with a team-leading 16 digs. Freshman Cori Aafedt became the second Cowgirl this season to dish out 30 or more assists. She finished the evening with a career and match-high 33 assists. Senior Kayla Henderson had herself a solid match as she tied her career-high with 13 kills and also recorded six blocks for UW.

Laura Beach also had 13 kills on the evening, while Bridget Shanahan had 10 and was the fourth Cowgirl with double-digit kills. Allison Waldvogel recorded a match-high 25 digs for UW, in addition to a career-high 3 service aces. Junior Courtney Chacon passed out 16 assists and also added eight digs. For the 15th match this season, freshman Reed Copeland led UW with a match-high seven total blocks for the Cowgirls, and Beach and freshman Mattison DeGarmo chipped in five roofs.

Beach and Slofkiss guided the offense in the second set with five and four kills, respectively. Waldvogel scooped up seven digs in both the second and third set. Slofkiss then added six kills to spark an 18-2 run late in the fourth set to seal the victory.

The Cowgirls will return to the court at Boise State on Saturday. First serve is scheduled for 2 p.m. MT.
