Garrett was listed as a three-star recruit according to 247Sports.com. He was listed by the service as the second ranked recruit in the state. He was listed as a three-star recruit by Rivals. He was a 4A All-State selection and All-Conference performer. He played both ways for Central High School. He helped the Indians rank in the top-five in the state in rushing. On defense, Garrett recorded 33 total tackles with seven tackles for loss to go along with three sacks. He was a big reason why Central ranked third in the state in rush defense. He was named to the Casper Star-Tribune’s Super 25. He also excels in baseball playing for Cheyenne Post 6.
