2019-20
Cross Country: Competed in four races during the season, finishing third among Cowboys once… Placed 65^th overall and fifth for UW at the NCAA Mountain Region Championships… Finished 42^nd overall and seventh for UW at the Mountain West Championships… Was third for Wyoming and 120^th overall at the Nuttycombe Invite… Earned academic all-MW honors.
Indoor Track & Field: Redshirted during the indoor season.
Outdoor Track & Field: Cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.
 
2018-19
Cross Country: Raced in all six competitions for the Cowboys during the season, earning team points in five of them… Finished fourth among Cowboys and 116th overall at the NCAA National Championships… Was the fourth Cowboy to cross the line at the NCAA Mountain Regional Championships, finishing 63rd overall… Placed 20th at the Mountain West Championships, his highest finish of the season, which was fourth among UW runners... Placed 28th overall and fourth among Cowboys at the Joe Piane Invitational… Earned Academic All-MW honors and was a MW scholar-athlete.
Indoor Track & Field: Ran the mile once, finishing sixth at the Powder River Dual in 4:21.93... Earned academic all-Mountain West honors and was a MW scholar-athlete.
Outdoor Track & Field: Redshirted during the outdoor season.

2017-18
Cross Country: Placed second among the Cowboys at the Pre-Nationals race to finish 87th overall… Placed third for UW twice during the season at the CSU duals to finish 61st overall and at the prestigious Roy Griak Invitational to finish 80th overall… Finished fourth for UW at both the MW Championships, placing 44th overall, and at the NCAA Mountain Regional, placing 74th overall… Competed in all five races during the season… Scored points in all five races during the season… Earned academic all-MW honors and was a MW Scholar-Athlete.
Indoor Track & Field: Was the Cowboys’ fastest miler with the sixth-best time in school history (4:06.09) recorded at the Husky Classic… Recorded a personal best in the 3,000 meters (8:42.89) at the Powder River Dual… Finished 14th in the mile at the Mountain West Championships (4:09.48).
Outdoor Track & Field: Recorded the second-fastest 1,500-meter time in school history (3:43.20) at the 7220 Invite… Ran on the 4x400-meter relay team at the CU Invitational and had a season-best time of 3:21.46… Posted a career-best time in the 800 meters (1:51.73) at the Beach Invitational… Finished 13th in the 1,500 meters (3:59.48) and 14th in the 5,000 meters (14:28.04) at the MW Championships… Placed 21st in the 1,500 meters at the NCAA West Preliminaries (3:48.62)… Earned academic all-MW honors and was a MW Scholar-Athlete.

2016-17
Cross Country: Competed in all six meets for the Cowboys, cracking the team’s top five twice…best finish was 52nd at both the MSU-Bozeman Invite and the MW Championships…was the Cowboys’ fifth finisher at the Roy Griak Invitational…in the classroom, received Academic All-MW and MW Scholar Athlete honors with a 3.53 GPA.
Indoor Track & Field: Posted a second-place finish in the 800 meters at the Rocky Mountain Classic…
Outdoor Track & Field: Best finish was fifth in the 800 meters at the Fum McGraw Open… Ended the season with a season-best 1:53.52 in the 800 meters at the Jack Christiansen Invite… Earned Academic All-MW and MW Scholar Athlete honors in the classroom.
 
High School: Crowned New Zealand’s Junior National Champion in the 1,500 meters with a time of 3:51.06… was the nation’s Junior National runner-up for the 800 meters at 1:51.37… represented New Zealand at the Australian Cross Country Junior Championships… coached by Gareth Hyett at Tauranga Boys College secondary school.

Personal: Daniel is the son of Roger and Colette Hintz.
