Biography

Freshman (2017) | Match-By-Match Statistics
Marissa Harmon had a stellar rookie campaign in Laramie • She started in 30 of the 31 matches and played in all 115 sets • She was named the MW Freshman of the Year, and honorable mention All-MW • Harmon became the fourth-ever Cowgirl to earn Freshman of the Year honors, and first since Reed Copeland in 2015 • With 1,101 assists in her first season, she became the first true freshman to lead UW in assists since Tasha Weishahn in 2005 • The Frisco, Texas, native led the team in assists in the final 20 matches and 28 overall • Harmon also had a team-high nine double-doubles in 2017 • She finished third in the MW with 10.60 assists per set • Harmon was also fifth in conference with 23 service aces (0.34 saps) • She closed out the regular season with ten kills at Fresno State (11/18) • Additionally, Harmon helped Wyoming to its first victory at Boise State in the last seven tries with a career-best 61 assists (10/7).

High School
Lettered three years at Wakeland high school • Co-MVP during her senior season • A member of the ASC Nike Invitational All-Tournament team, in addition to the TAVC 5A/6A Preseason All-Texas Team • A 2016 Under Armour All-American nominee • A 2016 Prep Volleyball National Senior Player of the Year Finalist and Prep Volleyball High School All-American Highest Honorable Mention • An AVCA Phenom selection as well as a 2016 TGCA All-Star team member • Three-time all-district and two-time all-state • District Setter MVP in 2015 and 2016 • Was twice an Academic All-State selection • Led her team to a ninth-place finish at state as a junior, and a fifth-place finish as a senior • A 2016 Andi Collins Award finalist • In all, she was a nine-year club volleyball player and five-time USAV Open medalist.

Personal
Studying kinesiology and health promotion while at UW • Born on June 8, 1999 in Plano, Texas • Has three siblings, Darrian, Makayla and Noah • Her brother Noah is a member of the men's volleyball team at Barton College, as sister Makayla is an international model • Marissa Kaelynn Harmon is the daughter of Scot and Julie Harmon • Her father was a member of the club volleyball team at Grand Valley State from 1987-89, while her mother played basketball, softball and club volleyball at GVSU from 1986-89.
