RANCHO MIRAGE, Calif. – The Cowgirls are playing with confidence entering the 2026 Mountain West Women's Golf Championships this Tuesday through Thursday at the Mission Hills Country Club.

Wyoming freshman Kiley Reisner has had a record-setting spring and won the individual trophy last week at the Bobcat Desert Classic to lead the team to a fourth-place finish.

At the Cowgirl Classic April 7-8, Reisner set a new program record for lowest event score (207) and UW shot 292 in the second and third rounds, which is tied for the ninth-lowest team round score in program history.

UW's lineup, which also includes senior Meghan Vogt, junior Elle Higgins and sophomores Kira Reisner and Emerson Purcell, will tee off between 10:10 a.m. and 10:50 a.m. Tuesday. The Cowgirls are paired with Nevada and San Diego State in the first round.

"The standard we have been talking about is we have to keep doing the things that we have been focusing on, which is being consistent with our process, our game plan," UW head coach Josey Stender said. "It's a lot about 100 yards and in, feeling comfortable on the putting green."

Reisner, who won the Thunderbird Classic last month in St. George, Utah, is the first player in program history to win two tournaments in the same year since 1989 when Kelly Meyers won the Jacoby Collegiate Invite and the Air Force Falcon Invite. Jordan Lintz holds the UW record for most individual tournament wins with three (1998 Cowgirl Challenge, 1999 Fighting Camel Classic and 2000 Mountain West Championship).

The Cowgirls are seeking the first MW Championship in program history. The 10-team field includes reigning champion UNLV and conference newcomer Grand Canyon.

San Jose State (51), UNLV (66), Boise State (91) and San Diego State (95) are ranked in the top 100 nationally.

The MW champion will earn an automatic qualifying berth in the NCAA Regionals with a chance to compete for a spot in the NCAA Championships May 22-27 in Carlsbad, Calif.

"I wouldn't call it a bigger stage, but this tournament naturally has a different pressure to it being the conference championship," Stender said. "For us it is another opportunity to showcase what we've been working on as a team. I think if we do that, we can have a great result."
