ST. GEORGE, Utah – Wyoming's Kira Reisner is tied for the lead, and her sister Kiley Reisner is two shots off the pace for the individual title after strong second round performances at the Thunderbird Invitational.
 
The Cowgirls were 1-under par as a team with a 287 on Saturday, which has them sitting third in the nine-team field with 18 holes remaining. UW (+6) is one shot behind Stetson (+5) and five shots behind Weber State (+1), which vaulted from third to first after finishing -7 in the second round.

"We had a very competitive day and I'm so proud of the team to be in this position going into Sunday," UW head coach Josey Stender said. "Kira has put in a tremendous amount of quality work and it is showing in her confident play. Kiley, Elle and Meghan have exhibited a lot of grit in some very tough situations to help put us in a good spot as a team. (The final round) will be fun. They have worked hard to be in this position."
 
Kira Reisner, a sophomore, shot 70 on Saturday and is -2 for the tournament. Kiley Reisner, a freshman, shot 69 in the second round to get to even par for the tournament. UW junior Elle Higgins (+3) is tied for 10^th after shooting 72, and senior Meghan Vogt (+5) is tied for 13th.
 
Stetson's Isaki Sakashita (-2) is tied with Kira Reisner atop the leaderboard entering the final round on Sunday.
 
At the 2024 Thunderbird Classic, senior Jadan Gonzalez, shared the individual trophy during a strong showing for UW.
