Game Recap: Women's Basketball |

FORT COLLINS, Colo. (Feb. 7, 2026) – The Wyoming Cowgirls fought hard but couldn't overcome Colorado State's hot shooting, especially from 3-point range in an 83-54 loss Saturday on the road. The Rams made 13 3-pointers and shot 54.2-percent from beyond-the-arc in the contest. CSU went 8-for-13 from deep in the first half alone.

Both teams opened the game with a pair of free throws before Colorado State found its range early from beyond-the-arc and took an early 12-4 lead. The Cowgirls trailed 18-14 at the first media timeout as both offenses were sharp to begin. Following the timeout, the two traded points the rest of the quarter as neither team could get many stops defensively. Wyoming trailed 24-19 after one.

CSU began the second quarter with four 3-pointers and jumped out to a 36-22 advantage as the Rams seemingly couldn't miss to open the game. Wyoming trailed 39-28 at the media timeout as Jane Rumpf did her best to keep the Cowgirls in it offensively with a couple of 3-pointers before the timeout. Out of the timeout, a pair at the free-throw line got UW within single digits before the Rams continued to blister the nets from the outside. Wyoming got the deficit back to 10 but Colorado State got a last-second 3-pointer to take a 47-34 lead into halftime.

The Rams' hot shooting continued to open the second half as the lead went up to 20 to begin the third before a Wyoming timeout. After the early timeout, a Malene Pedersen 3-pointer got the Cowgirls on the board for the first time in the half. Colorado State would remain in control the rest of the frame after that and carried a 64-41 lead into the fourth as the Wyoming defense continued to struggle.

Wyoming picked it up a bit offensively to start the fourth and after a Rumpf block on one end and a 3-pointer on the other, the Cowgirls were down 68-48. CSU continued to not miss from range however and led 77-48 at the final media timeout. Karoline Lundin buried a 3-pointer out of the timeout as UW kept battling until the very end.

UW shot 33.9-percent overall from the field and made nine 3-pointers in the loss. CSU, meanwhile, made 51-percent from the floor and also went 14-of-15 at the free-throw line. The Rams were also plus-14 in rebounding, plus-10 in points in the paint and plus-six in second-chance points.

Rumpf led the Cowgirls with 16 points and a couple of blocks in the loss on 5-of-9 shooting, including 4-for-6 from 3-point range. Pedersen also finished in double figures with 11 points. Henna Sandvik added seven and a team-high three assists. Off the bench, Heidur Karlsdottir chipped in with five points, four boards and two blocks of her own.

Next up is another tough road test for the Cowgirls as they travel to face UNLV at 7:30 p.m., Mountain Time Wednesday, February 11.
