Cowgirls Look to Stay Hot Saturday as They Host Boise State

LARAMIE, Wyo. (Feb. 12, 2026) – The Wyoming Cowgirls return home Saturday for a test against the league's No. 1 offense statistically in Boise State. Tip-off with the Broncos is set for 2 p.m.

Saturday's game will be broadcast live on the Mountain West Network and can be heard across the Cowgirl Radio Network with David Settle and Jennier Aadland on the call.

ABOUT THE COWGIRLS
Wyoming is coming off a sharpshooting effort in an 82-72 win Wednesday night at UNLV. It was the first win against the Lady Rebels on the road since 2020. The Cowgirls hit 16 3-pointers in the win and had three players score 20-plus points. The 16 made 3-pointers are the fourth-most for a single game in program history. Malene Pedersen tied a season-high with 26 points on the night while Henna Sandvik (25) and Jane Rumpf (20) both set career highs in the victory. This marks the first time since February of 2015 that three Cowgirls have scored 20-or-more in the same game. Ironically, that contest also came against UNLV.

Payton Muma had five assists against the Lady Rebels, her sixth game this season with five-plus assists. Muma leads the Cowgirls averaging 2.6 assists per season. As a team, UW is second in the league averaging 14.1 assists per game and assists on 66-percent of its field goals. Wednesday, the Cowgirls recorded 21 assists, the fifth time this season they've recorded 20-plus assists in a game.

With those 26 points, Pedersen recorded the 16th 20-point game of her career and her seventh this season. Pedersen has now scored in double figures 44 consecutive games, the fourth-longest active streak in the country. Pedersen is averaging 17 points per game on the season, which ranks second in the Mountain West while her 17.4 points per game in league play leads the conference. For her career, is ninth in program history with 1,622 points, is 10th with 605 career field goals, is 10th with 160 career 3-pointers, is 18th with 252 career free throws and is 16th with 298 career assists. Her 125 career games played are tied for 10th all time.

The Cowgirls recorded five blocks in Wednesday's win and are now tied for first in the MW with 3.96 blocks per game. During conference play, UW is averaging a conference-leading 4.53 blocks per contest. Individually, Rumpf (1.60) and Heidur Karlsdottir (1.33) rank first and second, respectively in the Mountain West in blocks per game during conference action.

SCOUTING BOISE STATE
Boise State has the No. 1 scoring offense in the Mountain West this season, averaging 71.6 points per game on 43-percent shooting from the floor and 39.2-percent from 3-point range on over seven made 3-pointers a game. The Broncos also lead the league in assists per game with 16.1 a contest. Boise State is allowing 65.1 points per game on 39.7-percent shooting from the field and is allowing just 28.4-percent from beyond-the-arc. The Broncos plus-2.3 in rebounding margin and force their opponents into nearly 17 turnovers per game.

Preseason Mountain West Player of the Year Tatum Thompson leads the Broncos in scoring (14.2) and rebounding (7.4) on nearly 46-percent shooting from the floor. Dani Bayes and Natalie Pasco average 13.7 and 13 points per game, respectively. Bayes leads Boise State with 42 steals while Pasco is the league's best 3-pointer shooter, leading the league with 2.6 3-pointers per game on a league-leading 46-percent shooting from beyond-the-arc. Mya Hansen is averaging a Mountain West-high 4.4 assists per game.

SERIES HISTORY AGAINST BOISE STATE
Boise State leads the all-time series, 22-17 and won this season's first meeting in Boise, 77-40. The Broncos have won 4-of-5 as of late in the series. Despite that, Wyoming has won the last five meetings in Laramie, including a 79-45 victory last season. The 34-point margin of victory in that February contest was the largest in the series until this season's Boise State victory.
