LAS VEGAS, Nev. (Feb. 11, 2026) – The Wyoming Cowgirls came out the gates firing on offense and never looked back in an 82-72 road win Wednesday night over UNLV. The Cowgirls made 16 3-pointers in the victory, the fourth-most in a single game in program history. Three Cowgirls eclipsed the 20-point mark in the win with Jane Rumpf and Henna Sandvik both reaching career-highs.
A Jane Rumpf 3-pointer got the scoring started Wednesday night as the Cowgirls came out aggressive on both ends of the floor to begin the contest. Both teams came out strong offensively to begin as Wyoming led 11-8 at the first media timeout thanks to a trio of 3-pointers, including two by Henna Sandvik. Following the timeout, the two teams traded 3-pointers back-and-forth as Rumpf hit two more to build a 20-14 Cowgirl lead. The final two minutes of the quarter were controlled by UNLV as the UW lead was down to 20-19 after one.
The second quarter began with another Cowgirl 3-pointer, this time from Malene Pedersen. Wyoming opened the frame on an 8-2 run to push its lead up to seven, forcing a Lady Rebel timeout two minutes into the quarter. From there, the two teams kept trading points before another Rumpf 3-pointer gave the Cowgirls a brief 10-point advantage before a UNLV 3-pointer. However, the rest of the half provided more offensive fireworks as Wyoming led 45-32 at the half.
After a couple of empty possessions to start the third quarter, the Cowgirl offense came alive again to build up a 16-point lead. After that though, UNLV was able to cut the UW lead down to just 52-44, leading to a Wyoming timeout with 4:47 left in the third. Out of the timeout, the Cowgirls found their range again from beyond-the-arc as Pedersen, Rumpf and Sandvik hit deep 3-pointers to put Wyoming back up double digits. The Cowgirls led 61-50 going to the fourth.
The Cowgirls got two layups to open the scoring in the fourth before the Lady Rebels cut it to 67-56 with 7:23 left and called a timeout. After the timeout, UNLV got an easy bucket off a Wyoming turnover before another Pedersen 3-pointer. From there, four-straight from Pedersen built the Cowgirls' lead up to 75-60 with under four to play. The Lady Rebels would not go away however, cutting the deficit to single digits with 1:49 to play. Following a UNLV timeout, three Wyoming free throws brought the advantage up to 12 with under 90 seconds remaining. The Cowgirls, with strong defense and good free-throw shooting were able to salt the game away from there.
Pedersen led UW and tied a season-high with 26 points on the night. Pedersen went 8-of-16 from the floor and hit four 3-pointers. Sandvik ended with 25 on 10-of-17 and 5-for-9 from beyond-the-arc. Rumpf, meanwhile, shot 7-for-14 and made six 3-pointers on her way to 20 points. This was the first time since at least 2019 that three Cowgirls have scored 20-plus points in the same game.
Rumpf was also one rebound shy of a double-double as she had nine rebounds while also posting a block and a steal. Payton Muma led UW with five assists. As a team, the Cowgirls had 21 assists, the fifth time this season they've recorded 20-plus in a game.
Wyoming shot 28-for-60 (46.7-percent) from the field and made 16-of-36 (44.4-percent) from beyond-the-arc. UNLV shot 44-percent and made 6-of-19 from 3-point range. The Cowgirls had a 15-11 edge in points off turnovers and 7-3 on second-chance points. The Lady Rebels doubled-up Wyoming in points in the paint, 28-14.
Now, UW returns home to host Boise State at 2 p.m., Saturday in Laramie.
