PALM DESERT, Calif. – Cowgirl golf tied Weber State 2-1-2 at the Mountain Classic Matchplay on Tuesday at The Classic Club.
 
Elle Higgins defeated Jade Gruher (2&1) and Emerson Purcell defeated Emily Song (1&0) for Wyoming's wins.

The Cowgirls won the tiebreaker with Weber State and will face Gonzaga on Wednesday to conclude the event, which UW co-hosts with Boise State. The Bulldogs defeated the Broncos 3-0-2 on Tuesday.

"I knew today would be a battle with a very competitive Weber State team," said UW head coach Josey Stender. "Four of the five matches went all 18 holes, which is really exciting. I'm very proud of their resilience and commitment to their process today. Emerson really flipped the momentum for us as a team when she came back from four down to win her match. Elle also played so much more confident today to get her victory."
 
Meghan Vogt, who posted the lone Cowgirl win on Monday against Montana State, remained unbeaten after finishing all square against the Wildcats' Braylyn Bayer.
 
UW's Ellie Barry won an individual match over Gonzaga's Audrey Park, 5&4.
 
Montana State, which edged UW 3-1-1 Monday, dominated Washington State 4-0-1 to advance to Wednesday's championship against Nevada.
