PHOENIX, Ariz. (Oct. 22, 2026) – The Wyoming Cowgirls began their four-match road swing Thursday night with a loss at Grand Canyon. The Lopes swept UW 27-25, 25-21 and 25-14.
Wyoming (10-10, 3-6 MW) came out of the gates strongly, surging in front midway through the first set and led late in the frame, 23-19. Emma Winter's nine kills led the Wyoming offense on a .500 hitting efficiency. Ruby Jensen, Paige Lauterwasser and Addy Thorington notched seven kills each. Rylee Heinz and Winter provided the Cowgirls' lone block in the loss.
Sara Quigley led UW with 19 assists and added seven digs. Lauterwasser led the Wyoming in the back row with eight digs in the match. Peyton Carruth and Anna Melgren each had a pair of service aces each to record the Cowgirls' full allotment in that category.
