BOISE, Idaho (Jan. 14, 2026) – It was a cold shooting night for the Wyoming Cowgirls and a strong shooting night for their opponent, Boise State as the Cowgirls fell to the Broncos on the road, 77-40 Wednesday.
Both teams started out cold from the floor, as the first points weren't scored until there was 7:48 left in the first. The Cowgirls trailed 7-2 at the first media timeout. The rest of the first saw the two offenses heat up a bit, but it was Boise State that enjoyed a 20-9 lead after one.
Wyoming's cold outside shooting continued in the second quarter as the Bronco lead was 27-13 at the second quarter media timeout. The Cowgirls had some strong looks in the frame to cut the deficit down to single digits but couldn't get the shots to fall and trailed 38-20 at the half. UW made just 2-of-15 3-pointers in the first half while Boise went 4-of-8 from beyond-the-arc. The Broncos also enjoyed a favorable whistle, attempting 10 first half free throws to Wyoming's two.
Boise State opened the second half strongly, opening its lead up to greater than 20 points in the frame. Wyoming trailed 50-31 after three quarters as the offense got going a bit in the latter part of the quarter.
The hot shooting from beyond-the-arc returned for Boise State to begin the fourth as they all but put the game out of reach early in the quarter. Despite opening the fourth with a couple of layups, the Cowgirl offense went cold again in the frame as the Bronco 3-point barrage continued to bring their lead up to 30-plus. Wyoming played its reserves the final eight minutes of the game.
Pedersen led the Cowgirls with 14 points in the loss as she was the only player in double figures for Wyoming. Pedersen extended her consecutive games streak of scoring 10-plus points to 36 straight and scored in double figures, while making at least one 3-pointer for the 24th-straight game. Those 24 games in-a-row are the longest active streak in the country. Pedersen also added five rebounds and a pair of assists in the loss.
Sandvik closed the game with seven points to go along with four boards. Karoline Lundin also had seven points off the bench, as she tied a career-high on 3-of-5 shooting. Heidur Karlsdottir had a strong game as well coming off the bench, as she tallied six points and seven rebounds to go along with three blocks and a team- and career-best three assists.
Wyoming shot just 32-percent (17-53) from the floor and went only 4-of-25 from 3-point range. The Broncos shot 29-of-62 (47-percent) and made 9-of-17 from beyond-the-arc. Boise State also attempted 13 more free throws on the night.
