LARAMIE, Wyo. (Jan. 12, 2026) – The Wyoming Cowgirls make the trip Wednesday night to face Boise State in a 6:30 p.m., contest in Boise. UW is in search of its first win on the road this season.

ABOUT THE COWGIRLS
Wyoming lost to four-time reigning Mountain West champion UNLV Saturday at home. Malene Pedersen and Jane Rumpf paced the Cowgirls with 16 points each in the loss. Rumpf had a career day in the contest, recording career-highs across the board. Rumpf, who recorded her first-career double-double, grabbed 10 rebounds, blocked five shots and had four assists, which were all career-bests. Rumpf's five made field goals, four made 3-pointers and 34 minutes played were also career-highs. Since being inserted into the starting lineup the last three games, Rumpf is averaging 11 points and 6.7 rebounds per game on 39.1-percent shooting from 3-point range. She is also averaging three blocks per contest over that stretch.
Pedersen, who scored 10-plus for the 35th consecutive game in the loss to UNLV, holds the nation's longest-active streak of scoring in double figures, while also making at least one 3-pointer in a game. Pedersen has accomplished the feat in 23 consecutive games dating back to last season. For her career, Pedersen has scored in double figures in 84 contests.
The Cowgirls recorded 17 assists on 21 field goals Saturday and are now up to averaging 13.7 assists per game, a mark that ranks third in the Mountain West. On the season, Wyoming has recorded an assist on over 65-percent of its makes in 2025-26. The Cowgirls also rank fifth in the league in assist-to-turnover ratio, as well as in blocks per game with 3.1 per as a team.
SCOUTING BOISE STATE
Boise State looks a little different than in years past, as the Broncos average nearly 71 points per game while allowing 69.3 a contest. The Broncos shoot an impressive 43-percent from the floor and blister the nets from 3-point range, hitting 38.6-percent from beyond-the-arc, which is tops in the Mountain West. Boise State averages nearly 36 rebounds per game and averages a league-leading 16.3 assists per game.
Preseason Mountain West Player of the Year, Tatum Thompson leads the Broncos averaging 15.5 points per game. Boise State has two other scorers, averaging over 13 points per game in Natalie Pasco (13.7) and Dani Bayes (13.5). Mya Hansen leads the team averaging 4.8 assists per game while Bayes leads the squad with 36 steals. Libby Hutton leads Boise State in rebounding with 6.1 per game and has a team-leading 15 blocks.
SERIES HISTORY AGAINST BOISE STATE
Wyoming trails in the all-time series against the Broncos, 21-17. The Cowgirls have won just three times in the series in Boise, having last won on the road against Boise State January 28, 2023. The Broncos have won 3-of-4 as of late in the series.
