LARAMIE, Wyo. (OCT 2, 2025) – The Wyoming Cowgirl golf team heads south to take part in the Ron Moore Intercollegiate hosted by Denver this Friday through Sunday.
The Cowgirls are coming off an 11th place finish at the rain shortened Ram Classic, as the trip to Denver will mark the final in-region contest for the Cowgirls this fall.
Elle Higgins leads the team averaging 71.4 strokes per round for the season. The transfer finished second at the Utah Valley Wolverine Invitational earlier this season.
Kiley Reisner is one of the top-freshman in the MW this season averaging 71.8 strokes per round for the season to rank second on the team. She has two top 25 finishes this season. She was also
named the Mountain West freshman of the month on Thursday.
In addition to Higgins and Reisner, UW's lineup includes
Meghan Vogt,
Kira Reisner and
Sophie Spiva.
"We've kind of established a foundation for the team with where we're at competitively and what potential we have," UW head coach
Josey Stender said. "I believe we're going to have our third different lineup going into this event, which I think says a lot about the competitive depth that we have."
Wyoming's lowest round of the season was a 282 (-6) at the Wolverine Invitational, as UW also shot a 284 (-4) during the same event.
The Ron Moore Intercollegiate is played at the University of Denver Golf Club at Highlands Ranch. The 15-team field includes Colorado from the Big 12, Clemson from the ACC, Vanderbilt from the SEC and Mountain West rivals Colorado State, New Mexico and UNLV.
The Cowgirls, who played a practice round on the DU course Thursday, have three natives of Colorado on the roster this season.
"It's a great golf course, the conditions are right and it's a great field," Stender said. "If we just continue to stick with our process we'll be good, we'll be competitive."
