LARAMIE, Wyo (Oct. 20, 2024) – The Cowgirl golfers will wrap up the fall portion of the schedule in Hawai'i at the Rainbow Wahine Invitational in Kapolei, Hawai'i on Monday through Wednesday.

Kapolei Golf Club has hosted PGA and LPGA tournaments including the Pacific Links Championship of the PGA Champions Tour from 2012-14 and the LPGA's Hawaiian Ladies Open from 1996-2001. It was also rated as one of Hawai'i's Top 10 courses by GolfAdvisor.com.

The 2024 tournament features a 15-team field highlighted by six teams ranked in Scoreboard's Top 100 national rankings including 28th-ranked Kansas State, No. 70 Grand Canyon, No. 76 Sacramento State, No. 96 Nevada, No. 97 Colorado State, and No. 98 UC Irvine.

"The group is very grateful to have the opportunity to play this very special tournament," said UW head coach Josey Stender, who played in this event during her collegiate career. "Not only is the location unique, but it's a longstanding tradition in women's golf. They have prepped the best they can between the level of competition we've seen so far this year and really being disciplined on their scoring around the greens."

The Cowgirls have been led this season by both Meghan Vogt and Kyla Wilde. The veteran leaders are each averaging 74.7 strokes per round.

Vogt owns a top 25 finish this season finishing tied for 25th in Fort Collins. Wilde has placed tied for 31st in each of the last two tournaments.

Lucia Morelli,
Erika Cook and Grace Dunkleberger are UW's other starters with Kira Reisner and Sophie Spiva competing as individuals.

"We will take it one day at a time but we want to have a strong finish to this event at the end," Stender said. "The consistency and competitiveness has improved each event for us so that is what we will build on."

The Cowgirls will return to action in February co-hosting the Mountain Match Play in Palm Desert, Calif.
