COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — The Mountain West Conference announced All-Conference selections on Wednesday afternoon following last weekend's 2023 Conference Championships with six University of Wyoming student-athletes earning the honor for their podium finishes in Clovis, Calif. 

Samuel Schneider went 6-8 in the High Jump to take second place and notched the first podium spot of the MW Championships for the Pokes. 

Katelyn Mitchem and Ryker Holtzen both took second place for Wyoming in the 3000M Steeplechase. On the women's side, Mitchem ran a 10:10.77 while Holtzen battled on the men's side vaulting up the Wyoming Top 10 Leaderboard with his 8:43.27 effort in the race. 

Cameron Burkett stood on the podium in the Shot Put during his first year competing for the Brown and Gold. The Freshman from Casper, Wyo., threw 56-2.5 to take third place in the event. 

Sadie McMullen earned her spot on the All-Conference list with a third place finish in the Long Jump. McMullen went 20-0.5 in the event. 

Tarique George took the first and only podium spot on the final day of action. George took third in the Discus with his mark of 181-4. 

The Mountain West Track & Field All-Conference selections are the top-three finishers in each individual event and the top three relay teams at the MW Championships.

With the upcoming NCAA West Regionals Mitchem ranks ninth in the West region in the Steeplechase and also sits at 15 in the 1500 for this outdoor season. Holtzen ranks 18th in the Steeplechase and Burkett 33rd in the region in the Shot Put.
