PHOENIX, Ariz. (April 4, 2023) – The Cowgirls wrapped up play at the Wyoming Cowgirl Classic on Tuesday playing host at the AK-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club in Phoenix, Arizona. The Cowgirls closed out the tournament in 13^th led by a pair of top 50 finishers. 
 
"Very thankful for the staff at AK-Chin Southern Dunes for hosting a great event once again." Head Women's Golf Coach Josey Stender said, "The team really fought hard today and kept their heads up in extremely tough conditions. The par for the last two days was played around 76 to 77, so I was proud of them to maintain." 
 
Once again battling against extreme wind conditions, the duo of Jadan Gonzalez and Meghan Vogt were the top finishers for the Brown and Gold with each of them posting a three-round total of 232 (+16) to finish tied for 39^th. Samantha Hui had a strong finish to her tournament shooting a third round of 78 (+6) on her way to finishing tied for 56^th with a three-round total of 235 (+19). Rounding out the lineup, Morgan Ryan and Grace Dunlkelberger finished tied for 66^th and 97^th respectively. 
 
Playing as an individual, Rachel Stoinski closed out her tournament tied for 89^th with a score of 247 (+31).
 
As a team, the Cowgirls finished in 13^th with a score of 932 (+68) coming in ahead of Mountain West Rival Boise State who finished in 14^th. Sacramento State came away with the team title posting a score of 885 (+21) finishing seven strokes ahead of UNLV.
 
Up next the Cowgirls will face one more test before the Mountain West Championship as they head top Millbrae, California April 10-11 to compete in the Silicon Valley Showcase hosted by Santa Clara.
