Sedona, Ariz. (March 18, 2023) – The Wyoming Cowgirl Golf squad opened play at the Red Rocks Invitational on Saturday at the Oak Creek Country Club in Sedona, Arizona. After two rounds of play the Cowgirls are tied for 13^th with Jadan Gonzalez sitting inside the top 50.
 
"I feel like we played a lot better than we scored today unfortunately. We really just struggled on the greens to make the putts that were dropping easily last weekend." Head Women's Golf Coach Josey Stender said, "I'm confident we will play better tomorrow."
 
Gonzalez led the way for the Cowgirls finishing the day with a two-round total of 151 (+7) sitting in a tie for 31^stheading into the third round. Meghan Vogt closed out her day with a score of 154 (+10) finishing the second round tied for 52^nd. The duo of Samantha Hui and Morgan Ryan finished the day tied for 60^th with each of them posting a score of 155 (+11). Sophie Spiva rounds out the Cowgirl lineup tied for 98^th after two rounds of play.
 
Competing as and individuals, Rachel Stoinski recorded a two-round score of 155 (+11) to finish the day tied for 60^th while Sophie Grace Dunkleberger closed out her day tied for 92^nd.
 
As a team, the Cowgirls finished the day tied for 13^th with a score of 615 (+39) sitting level with Eastern Washington and just one stroke ahead of Utah Tech. Delaware leads the team race after two rounds with a score of 582 (+6) holding a six-stroke lead over second place Gonzaga. 
 
The Cowgirls will wrap up play tomorrow with the third and final round set to tee off at 9:15 a.m. MT.
