LARAMIE, Wyo. (March. 16, 2023) – Coming off of a monumental team victory at the SUU Pizza Hut Lady Thunderbird Invitational, the Wyoming Cowgirl Golf squad now looks to follow up their win with another impressive performance this weekend at the Red Rocks Invitational in Sedona, Arizona hosted by Northern Arizona at the Oak Creek Country Club.

"Obviously we want to keep the competitive momentum going into our next event and continue to build on our confidence. This is a slightly different style of course which will require them to work the ball and be strategic in their approach shots." Head Women's Golf Coach
Josey Stender said, "We have had a fun time on the road with quality practice and team bonding and I know they are ready to finish this road trip on a high note for each other."

Jadan Gonzalez looks to continue her streak of impressive play coming off of her first career top ten finish as a Cowgirl. Gonzalez finished tied for seventh at the SUU Pizza Hut Lady Thunderbird. For Gonzalez, it was her best finish of the season and her second top 30 finish of the season.

Sophomore
Meghan Vogt looked very impressive in her return to traditional play as she returned from injury and finished tied for seventh in her first stroke play tournament of the season. The result for Vogt was a career best one as well as setting a new career best single round score of 70 (-2)

Joining Gonzales and Vogt in the lineup this weekend will be
Morgan Ryan,
Samantha Hui and
Sophie Spiva. The duo of
Rachel Stoinski and
Grace Dunkleberger will be competing as individuals.

Coming off their first tournament win since 2018, the Cowgirls will be on the hunt to continue their incredible recent form of play. This weekend's field features six teams that the Cowgirls went up against a week ago in their win at the SUU Pizza Hut Lady Thunderbird Invitational.

Joining the field this weekend will be Big East standout Creighton who has put together a strong season so far winning the Kelsey Chugg Invitational and recording five top three team finishes this season. Grand Canyon University is also set to compete this weekend coming off of back to back third place finishes at The Valley Invitational and GCU Invitational.

The Red Rocks Invitational also marks the first time this season that the Cowgirls will be up against a field that features no other teams from the Mountain West.

The Cowgirls are set to tee off on the par 72, 6,200 yard course on Saturday at 9:15 a.m. MT with two rounds of play scheduled for Saturday. The tournament is set to conclude with the final round of play on Sunday.
