LINCOLN, Neb. (Feb. 25, 2023) – The Wyoming Cowgirls opened their weekend in Nebraska with an impressive 7-0 victory over Kansas City Saturday afternoon. The win is the third consecutive for Wyoming. The Cowgirls haven't dropped a match in those three wins.

Things started fast for the Cowgirls (4-5) as they opened with the doubles point, sweeping all three doubles matches. Ana Fernandez and Sophie Zehender won 6-4 at the No. 1 spot, as did Violetta Borodina and Maria Oreshkina at No. 2. At the third doubles position, the team of Noesjka Brink and Nikol Dobrilova made quick work of their opponents, winning 6-1.

In singles play, the Cowgirls won all six matches, including five in straight sets. At the No. 1 spot, Zehender was victorious quickly, 6-2 and 6-1. At the second spot, Oreshkina pulled one out, 7-5 and 6-4. Dobrilova won at No. 4, 6-4, 6-4. In the fifth spot, Borodina was victorious, 6-1 and 6-4. Rounding-out the straight-sets wins was Fernandez at No. 6, winning 7-5 and 6-0. Brink won her third set superset, 10-5 at the third position, after splitting the first two sets of her match, 6-1 and 4-6.

Next, the Cowgirls look to make it a perfect weekend Sunday as they play host-Nebraska at 9 a.m.
