Biography

FIFTH YEAR (2022-23): Was named to the All-Mountain West Doubles Team for the third consecutive season along with her partner, Sophie Zehender. Fernandez and Zehender closed the season ranked No. 6 in the final ITA Mountain Region poll. Had 12 singles wins overall and 10 during dual action. Went 4-2 in conference play. Went 13-10 in doubles in the spring and had 14 wins overall. Was named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team. Her 58 career doubles wins rank 10th all-time in program history.

SENIOR (2021-22): Was named to the Mountain West All-Doubles Team along with partner Sophie Zehender for the second consecutive season. Had 14 doubles victories overall in 20221-22 and went 9-7 in dual action along with Zehender. Fernandez went 5-3 in league play at the No. 2 doubles spot. Had five singles wins over the season, including four in dual action.

JUNIOR (2021): 2021 Mountain West All-Doubles Team selection along with partner Sophie Zehender. Fernandez, along with Zehender, led UW with a 13-4 doubles record, playing mostly at the No. 2 spot. Went 5-3 in conference doubles contests. Won eight matches during singles play in 2021, including seven victories coming at the No. 3 position.

SOPHOMORE (2019-20): Took the “B” Bracket doubles championship along with partner Ana Royo at the 2019 Wyoming Invite … compiled 10 singles win during the fall and spring, including a 3-1 mark at No. 3 singles during dual matches … went 8-3 in doubles play with her partner Ana Royo … the duo posted an impressive 8-2 mark during the fall in doubles.

FRESHMAN (2018-19): She would go 8-8 in singles during the fall of her freshman campaign. Her first career victory came against Linnea Fristam of Montana State at the Bedford Cup. Qualified for the ITA Mountain Region Tournament. In doubles action, she went 8-7 with two different playing partners. She and Ana Royo went 6-3. Wrapped up her freshman campaign with a 12-15 overall singles mark and 4-7 in dual play.   

HIGH SCHOOL: She reached the semifinals in the regional open championship in doubles. She ranks among the top five in the U18 region and in the Top 100 in the Spanish Open ranking. Fernandez won several national titles.

PERSONAL: Born August 3, 2000 in Madrid, Spain. The daughter of Gregorio and Teresa, plus has one sibling, Marcos. She is undeclared but plans to major in business.
