LARAMIE, Wyo. (Feb. 25, 2023) – After a week off, the Wyoming Cowgirl Golf Squad returns to action this week as they travel to Sacramento, California to compete in the Causeway Invitational hosted at the Del Paso Country Club. The Cowgirls will tee off competition on Monday, Feb. 27 and conclude play on Tuesday, Feb. 28.

Josey Stender said, "We have a lot of positives to build off of our matchplay event as we now get to play a course that should reward confident play."
This will be the first stroke play event of the spring season for the Cowgirls after opening their spring slate at the Mountain Classic Matchplay where they finished sixth picking up a win over Southern Utah.
Jadan Gonzalez will look to build off of her performance at the match play event after going 2-1 in her matches helping to lead the Cowgirls to their sixth-place finish.
Joining Gonzalez in the lineup this will be true freshman
Sophie Spiva along with the experienced duo of
Morgan Ryan and
Samantha Hui. Hui has record three top 25 finishes so far, this season while Ryan has posted one top 30 finish.
The Cowgirls will be up against a very competitive field in Sacramento that features multiple teams ranked inside the top 100. No. 44 ranked California highlights the field of competing teams and will have both an A and B team in action. Mountain West foe Nevada will also be in the field coming off of a first-place finish at the Mountain Classic Match play where they went 3-0 including a win over Wyoming.
The first round of play on the 6,143-yard Par 72 course is set to tee off on Monday at 9 a.m. MT with second round immediately following the first.
