San Diego, Calif. (March 8, 2022) -- With a final round of two-over par 290, the Wyoming Cowboys moved up three spots to finish in 11th place out of 16 teams at the Lamkin San Diego Classic on Tuesday in San Diego, Calif. Cowboy
Jimmy Dales climbed up the standings five positions on Tuesday, shooting a final round of even par 72 to place 28th in a field of 95 collegiate golfers.
"I'm proud of the way the guys closed out the tournament today," said
Joe Jensen, UW Director of Golf and Head Men's Golf Coach. "All five of them shot between par and two-over par in the final round. That is the kind of balance and consistency that we can build on. Jimmy (Dales) led us again. He has become a player we can count on week after week.
Pat (Azevedo),
Kirby (Coe-Kirkham) and
Tyler (Severin) all finished within three strokes of each other, and our freshman,
Cade McLaughlin, shot an even-par round today to close out the tournament on a high note. It was good to finish ahead of a conference opponent in San Diego State, and it was good to move up the standings in the final round."
