Kapolei, Hawaii - (Oct. 26, 2022) – The Wyoming Cowgirl golf squad concluded play at the Rainbow Wahine Invitational in Kapolei, Hawaii on Wednesday completing the final 18 holes at the Kapolei Golf Course. With the tournament in the books the Cowgirls also wrapped up their fall schedule.
 
"We played much better today overall, especially with all of the injuries we have been battling." Head Women's Golf Coach Josey Stender said, "I think this has been a good fall season with a lot of growth as a team and individual play." 
 
Jadan Gonzalez and Kyla Wilde were the top placers for the Cowgirls as they both finished tied for 42^nd with a score of 231 (+14). Gonzalez finished strong with the lowest round score of the tournament by a Cowgirl shooting a 73 (+1) in the round. Morgan Ryan and Samantha Hui both finished the tournament tied for 58^thwith a score of 235 (+18). Rachel Stoinski rounded out the Cowgirl lineup finishing in 66^th with a score of 238 (+21).
 
Playing as individuals, the duo of Jessica Zapf and Sophie Spiva both finished tied for 49^th with a three-round score of 233 (+16).
 
As a team, the Cowgirls finished in 12^th with a score of 926 (+62) eight strokes ahead of CSU-Northridge and just six strokes behind 11^th place Portland State. Colorado State ran away with the team title finishing as the only team under par posting a score of 857 (-7).
 
The Cowgirls will now be off until the spring opening their spring schedule Feb. 13-14 at the Mountain Classic Matchplay event in Palm Desert, California.
