Kapolei, Hawaii - (Oct. 24, 2022) – The Wyoming Cowgirl golf squad continued up play at the Rainbow Wahine Invitational in Kapolei, Hawaii on Tuesday completing the second round of play at the Kapolei Golf Course.
"We got off to a good start today but just struggled down the stretch. The trade winds make it difficult on club selection and I think it really impacted our confidence." Head Women's Golf Coach
Josey Stender said, "I have a lot of belief in this team and know that they have the talent as they have shown this semester and are capable of having a great finish tomorrow."
Morgan Ryan once again led the way for the Cowgirls on the second day of play shooting a 79 (+7) to finish the day with a total score of 153 (+9) capping of the day in a tie for 34
th.
Kyla Wilde also shot a 79 (+7) in the second round bringing her total score to 156 (+12) putting her in a tie for 48
th. The duo of
Jadan Gonzalez and
Samantha Hui both finished the second tied for 56
th with a total score of 158 (+14).
Rachel Stoinski rounds out the Cowgirl lineup currently sitting in a tie for 66
th with 18 holes left to play.
Playing as individuals,
Sophie Spiva and
Jessica Zapf finished the second round tied for 42
nd and 48
threspectively.
After two rounds the Cowgirls are currently in 12
th place with a score of 624 (+48) sitting two strokes ahead of CSU-Northridge and trailing Portland State by just four strokes. Colorado State leads the team race after two rounds with a score of 575 (-1).
The Cowgirls will conclude play tomorrow with the final round set to tee of at 1 p.m. MT.
