LARAMIE, Wyo. (Sept. 17, 2021) – Coming off of a top ten finish in their season opener, the Wyoming Cowgirl Golf squad will now travel to Coeur d'Alene, Idaho for the Coeur d'Alene Collegiate Invitational hosted by Gonzaga. For the second week in a row the Cowgirls are set to play against strong field on a prestigious course.

Josey Stender said. "While it is a new event for us, the course will have a lot of familiarity to us and a chance to compete against another very high-level field."
The three-day tournament will be played on the 6,051, par-71 Coeur d'Alene Resort Golf Course. The Cowgirls will play one round each day of the tournament teeing off at 8 a.m. MT on Sunday and Monday and teeing off at &:45 a.m. MT on Tuesday.
The Cowgirls will once again be up against a very competitive field that features 16 teams and is highlighted by host school Gonzaga, the reigning West Coast Conference Champions. Last week Gonzaga won the Hobble Creek Fall Classic while the Cowgirls finished seventh at that same tournament. Other teams to watch in the field are Sacramento State, the Big Sky Conference champions from a year ago, and Oral Roberts who opened their season with a first-place finish at the MSU/Payne Stewart Memorial.
Last time out the Cowgirls were paced by
Kyla Wilde and
Samantha Hui who both had career best finishes and placed inside the top 15. Wilde had an excellent collegiate debut as she finished tied for eighth at recorded eight birdies in her three rounds of play. Hui finishes in a tie for 14
th while recording two rounds of 73 (+2).
Joining Wilde and Hui in the starting lineup will be
Jessica Zapf,
Morgan Ryan and
Meghan Vogt. After playing as an individual last week, Vogt will now make her first collegiate start.
Michelle Nguyen will also be competing at the tournament as an individual.
