Laramie, Wyo. (April 22, 2021) -- The Wyoming Cowboy golf team will play its final regular-season tournament of the season this Friday and Saturday at the BYU Cougar Classic in Provo, Utah. It will be the Pokes' final tune-up before the Mountain West Conference Championship next week.
"This week will be a good opportunity for us to get back in the rhythm we had a couple weeks ago at the Cowboy Classic when we played well," said
Joe Jensen, UW Director of Golf and Head Men's Golf Coach. "It will also be great for us to play against a number of other Mountain West schools this week leading up to the Mountain West Championship. I think if our guys can stay focused on playing solid golf and not trying to do too much, we can have a good weekend of golf at BYU."
This weekend's Cougar Classic will feature a field of 19 teams. Some details on this week's tournament follow.
•Wyoming will be one of seven Mountain West schools participating, including: Air Force, Boise State, Colorado State, Nevada, New Mexico, UNLV and Wyoming.
•The field will also have seven West Coast Conference schools participating: BYU, Gonzaga, Loyola Marymount, San Diego, San Francisco, Santa Clara and St. Mary's.
