LARAMIE, Wyo. (Jan. 6, 2021) – The Wyoming wrestling team will head to Columbia, Mo. on Friday for their first road competition of the season. The Cowboys will face off against No.17 Central Michigan (1-0) at 4 p.m. MT and follow that up by facing MAC powerhouse No.10 Missouri (3-0) at 6 p.m. MT.
 
"This was an excellent late addition to our schedule." Head Coach Mark Branch said.  "We get to see 2 great teams and we also will get a chance to take some extra guys and get additional matches.  I'm looking forward to working on a few improvements this week and having the chance to compete against some highly ranked guys." 
 
Last time out five Cowboys picked up wins in the opening dual of the season including three wins over ranked opponents from Tate Samuelson, Stephen Buchanan and Brian Andrews. The Cowboys will head into Friday looking for their first dual win of the season.
 
Last season the Cowboys and Tigers met in dual action in the South Beach Duals. While the Cowboys fell to the Tigers 22-10 in the meeting, it was highlighted by Jaron Jensen picking up a very impressive upset win over Missouri's No.2 Brock Mauller. Andrews also got his hand raised in last season's dual against Missouri.   
 
The Cowboys will also square off against Central Michigan on Friday in what will be a first-time meeting for the two teams. Central Michigan started their season last weekend with a shutout victory over Olivet.
