LARAMIE, Wyo. (April 25, 2019) – The Wyoming track & field teams are set for the final regular-season meet of the year, as they will travel to Fort Collins, Colo., for the Jack Christiansen Invitational this Saturday, April 27. The meet is hosted by Colorado State at Jack Christiansen Track and will feature Air Force, Colorado and Montana State-Billings. Field events are slated to begin at 10 a.m., and track events start at 11 a.m.

"This is kind of our last, final tune-up before the conference championships," said UW track & field head coach Bryan Berryhill. "We're coming off of what I thought was a really good effort down in California. We had a lot of personal bests and a lot of seasonal bests. We're not competing everybody at CSU, it's mostly athletes that we feel like need to work on a few things before we get to the conference championships. Hopefully, we can go down there, with the weather being nice, and have a good final tune-up."

Jerayah Davis has starred for the Cowgirls this season, as she is the only athlete in the country to be in the NCAA's top-10 in both a track and a field event. Her 100-meter dash time of 11.18 is fifth, while her long jump mark of 21-2.5 is tied for sixth. Both are school records and first in the Mountain West.

Ja'la Henderson, a two-time outdoor All-American, is currently 27th in the NCAA in the triple jump at 42-9, and 36th in the long jump with a mark of 20-5. She is first and third in the Mountain West, respectively, in those two events.

Emelda Malm-Annan is ranked 38th in the NCAA in the hammer throw with a personal-best mark of 202-7, which is the third best throw in Cowgirl history. She has thrown over 200 feet at three competitions this season.

Kacey Doner is sitting in 23rd in the west qualifying region in the steeplechase with her time of 10:23.54, which is second-best in Cowgirl history.

For the Cowboys, Harry Ewing's school-record time in the steeplechase of 8:42.72 is good for eighth in the nation, and it leads the Mountain West by nearly five seconds. Christopher Henry's 10,000m time of 29:24.74 has him in contention to make the west preliminary meet, as he is 43rd in the west.

William Nolan is also in position to make the west preliminaries, as he is 48th in the triple jump with a mark of 48-11.5. Additionally, a pair of hammer throwers, Kirk Unland and Eric McArthur, are ranked 36th and 44th in the west with throws of 199-5 and 196-5, respectively.
